Jane Appleby (president) MD, FACP Diplomat, American Board of Internal Medicine Diplomate, American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine currently works with the Methodist Healthcare System as a physician liaison for clinical outcomes and serves as a team physician with VITAS Innovative Hospice. She also leads a weekly qigong class for women who have had breast cancer. Dr. Appleby graduated Cum Laude from the University of Texas in Austin and received her degree in medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine with the Health Science Center Department of Medicine. Dr. Appleby has written a number of articles on clinical topics and received several awards for community service and teaching excellence. In addition to being a student of the healing arts, she is a painter and a sculptor who enjoys creating and appreciating beauty.

X. Isabell Correa (acting vice-president) CNMT SEP has been in private clinical practice as a Neuromuscular Therapist since 1987, specializing in chronic stress, acute and chronic pain and the somatization of trauma. She draws from 30 years experience in the health industry in administration and patient care and also from working with "special needs" group such as women, the elderly and physically disabled. Isabell has taught sex education to indigent teens and women in El Paso/Juarez, Mexico; needs assessments and living skills for the Texas Rehabilitation Commission. A Yoga Instructor, Isabell has led classes in strengthening, flexibility, stress reduction and Meditation. She seeks to provide an integrative perspective which supports the body's inherent capacity for healing, while honoring the spiritual dimension of the process. Presently, Isabell practices at the Orthopaedic Institute, in San Antonio, Texas. She was co-founder of Integrative Health Care Centers, a clinical practice of complementary medicine practitioners. She is a founding member of Health and Healing Consortium (HHC).

Paula Davies (chair)  LMT, has been a therapist since 1998 and specializes in pain and movement therapies and somatic approaches to healing. She is also a graduate of a 3 year study in energy healing and has taught locally at Lionheart Institute. Past endeavors have included restaurant owner, caterer and private chef; also horticulturist in sustainable agriculture. She borrows from these experiences and offers talks on creative approaches to cooking and eating in a series called ³hOMe Cooking². Her exploration and study of complementary and alternative health modalities began as an avocation 25 years ago. Ms. Davies initiated the Health and Healing Consortium (HHC) in 2003.

Anne Larme (secretary) PhD is a medical anthropologist with a long-standing interest in complementary and alternative medicine. She has conducted research on ethnomedical practices in Mexico and Peru, and on various topics related to health and health practitioners in the U.S., including an assessment of the alternative health care community in San Antonio. Presently she is adjunct faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where she continues to teach about cultural issues in health care to medical students and residents and consults on qualitative research methods. Dr. Larme is a founding member of the Health and Healing Consortium.

Beverly Meyer (treasurer) MBA, clinical nutritionist has been in practice for 19 years as a nutrition consultant and holistic health practitioner. Her office, the Diet & Health Center, counsels clients on diet, food intolerances, vitamin supplementation, homeopathic remedies, disease prevention, and much more. She is a popular speaker and teaches classes on a wide variety of holistic topics. Beverly has owned and managed 7 businesses, 2 of them national in scope.

Founded in 2003 HHC (Health and Healing Consortium) is a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation.
